Ten Months and counting...

Last Friday the 11th Ellia turned 10 months! She is starting to pull herself up more and more. Sometimes this causes problems when she falls over a little and bumps her head. She also walks now when you hold her hands. Look out Vader here she comes! She also LOVES peas.. either baby food peas or regular peas. She is becoming so much more independent too.. wanting to pick up food and feed it to herself as well as drink from her sippy cup without any help. And she gets into everything she is not supposed to as she adventures around the room “scooting” and trying to pick up lint off the floor. She always wants to see what you are doing or help out as demonstrated in her reviewing this past week’s mail. She will get up on her knees and rock back and forth but hasn’t wanted to crawl yet. That is okay with me because I can catch up to her scooting.

This past weekend we tried to place a bid on the house we liked; however the agent wasn’t what we expected and the offer we were going to make was “too low” according to her. So we will just see what happens with that property but for now we are going to stay happy with living where God wants us!
Ellia and I also attended cousin (or aunt) Wendy’s shower. We had fun seeing everyone in the family and I enjoyed getting time with Magerie. Ellia enjoyed time with Nana, Aunt Kelly and Aunt Kristin, seeing Aunt Sandy, and hanging out with Great Grandma Angelo. We got to finally meet Cousin Gracie. I just love all of her hair! We are teaching all the girls about weddings already! Oh and Cousin Jen even held Magerie!!!! She never holds babies and claims to be scared of them but I think she looks like a pro. Ellia got to have some fries, chicken fingers, a taste of Mommy’s eggplant, and also some of Nana’s green beans and chicken marsala.. haha.. not like we gave her a lot or anything. She just wants to try whatever anyone is eating. She squawks at you like a little bird waiting to be fed.

Oh and this week I gave up breast feeding with Ellia. I guess I did pretty good for going 10 and a half months. My supply got low and it just wasn’t satisfying her anymore. I kind of got sad about it but I love not worrying about when I am going to pump.
This weekend Daddy and Mommy get to go to bowling! Our”once every other weekend” night out. Also we are going to hang out with Nick and Angela to celebrate Angela’s birthday. Fun times continue!!!! Time is always fun when you get to hang out with this little girl!!! Love ya all.

Labor Day Weekend

Last Friday I had to take Ellia to the doctors. She had this rash that seemed to be getting worse and we couldn’t figure out what was causing it. The doctor told me that she had “slapped cheek virus” or rather fifth disease. What I thought was teething the weekend before was really this virus. He told me that when infants have a virus it usually ends with a rash. In this case, Ellia’s rash looked like someone slapped her cheeks and it was spreading to her arms, torso and legs. She is alright now and the rash was a good sign letting us know that she wasn’t contagious and getting better. The rash is completely gone now and I guess I’m learning something new all the time with her... that's what being a mom is all about.
This Labor Day weekend was a great time for us to relax. We joined some friends Friday night for dinner, Saturday we did some much needed grocery shopping and then just relaxed. We were going to go to the rib cook off in town and after driving down there, determined it was too congested with the cook off, Pitt game earlier that day and then a Pirate game going on.

Sunday was church and then we headed over to Aunt Kelly’s and Uncle Ron’s for a cook out to celebrate Nana Angelo’s birthday. Aunt Kristin was there with cousin Magerie. The girls are just too cute with each other and I can’t wait to see what they will be like together when they get older.
We even brought Vader with us to have a reunion with his brother Bo, however the two of them acted like complete strangers and fought for awhile. After a couple hours they finally accepted each other and got along. Monday was another day to just enjoy each other. Watching movies, cleaning and taking a walk were the majority of our activities for the day.
Ellia is now starting to pull herself up on her knees and moving around the floor by “scooting” more than ever. She also blows kisses now. Everything she says is usually “Da, Da, Da…” and I am still working on the Ma Ma part. This Friday the 11th she will be 10 months old!!!! Only a couple more months until she is 1!
The efforts with the house we found are still underway. We got pre-approved for a loan and will probably make an offer this weekend!!!! Keep those fingers crossed still!

Great Grandma Fun!

Last Friday the 28th, Kevin and I took off work. It wasn’t the nicest of day’s weather wise but we enjoyed just being with Ellia and each other. We ended up visiting Great Grandma Angelo and Uncle Joe. At first Ellia was a little hesitant about her new surroundings but warmed up to grandma. Great Grandma gave her a pretzel to suck on. She really liked the salt however we had to watch because she would bite off big pieces! Also, Ellia enjoyed playing with grandma’s pot and measuring spoons more than her own toys. The rest of the weekend was rough since she is teething. Her top two front teeth are starting to poke through and this weekend we dealt with crankiness, fevers and a runny nose. We did go to the strip district on Saturday even though it was raining. It ended up turning out to be a nice afternoon after the storm passed. Sunday we went to an open house. We really like the house and there are prospects of placing an offer. So keep your fingers crossed!!! Oh I added in a picture of new bows we bought at babies-r-us.. hehe.
