Staycation and then some...

Okay so I am a little behind with this post but better late than never! This is a long one so just bear with me! What a wonderful time to enjoy our family! Friday the 3rd started off our Staycation! The week went by so fast but we did get to make some fun memories.
We ended up giving Bo to Aunt Kelly and Uncle Ron. Vader was depressed at first but has adjusted well. We are enjoying a little more room at the house and Bo has adjusted nicely to his new home. Also some sad news, my parent’s dog Sadie passed away. She was 13 years old but wasn’t sick. It came as a shock since she was playing and eating well the night before. My parents found her the next morning. Mom and Dad Ollis took it really hard and Sadie will be truly missed.
For the 4th of July we headed to Latrobe to Aunt Michael’s and Aunt Vickie’s house to enjoy time with the Angelo clan. Aunt Stephanie, Uncle John, Matt, Melissa and Steven all came up from Georgia. This is the first time they got to meet Magerie and they haven’t seen Ellia since New Years.

Everyone got their much needed baby fix that day as pictures were taken of Ellia and Magerie in their matching outfits. Ellia played with Great Grandma and Aunt Sandy fed her. Ellia loved the fireworks and also the sparklers. Even the dogs enjoyed themselves. It was a family reunion with Zoey, Jake, Bo and Vader.
Sunday the 5th was our church picnic. Kevin was designated grill master at the food tent while Ellia and I met up with friends Valerie, Debbie and Victoria. Aunt Jen, Alex and Samantha met us there as well. We enjoyed the petting zoo, the fire truck (Alex’s favorite), jumping tents, old car show, food, and Kevin trying to chip a golf ball into the lake. Such a nice day! That night Kevin and I took Ellia to her first drive-in move. We saw Transformers 2. She was up for the whole thing.

Monday was a day spent at the pool and then dinner at Mad Mex. Tuesday we went to breakfast at Pamala’s in the Strip District and then did major food shopping. We got so much good lunch meat and fresh cheeses as well as crab legs, scallops and sushi. Then we headed to the pool for day two of sun. Ellia loves her little ladybug boat we got her. She fell asleep everytime she was in it. Maybe investing in a baby water bed for her would be a good idea????We ate our sushi for dinner, did some shopping at Target, rented movies for the week and got Dairy Queen! Wednesday we had dentist appointments (not the most fun thing to do on a vacation) and Nana and Papa Angelo met us. We ate lunch at our old time favorite place, Fuel and Fuddle. That night we had our crab legs.. yum! Thursday was again spent at the pool where mommy got way too much sun. I spent the night feeling sick to my stomach with chills however I didn’t pass up the scallops Kevin made or the Rita’s he picked up. Friday we did a little bit of the pool then went to the Angelo’s for pizza and Baskin Robins.

Saturday (the 11th) we spent the day cleaning and that night we went to a party at Uncle Nick and Aunt Angela’s. Angela looks so cute being pregnant. Ellia stayed up way past her bed time but was the hit of the party. She also turned 8 months on Saturday. Again, changing every day and getting too big. She loved Benson (Ange and Nick’s dog) and he loved her too. He would bring his ball over to her to throw it but of course Ellia would want to put it in her mouth instead.

Sunday was our last day at the pool. Ellia slept for 2 hours so Mommy and Daddy really enjoyed that time to read and relax! She is so funny in her bouncer too.. she loves to jump / dance. She likes to look at books also and gets so serious as if she is reading it by herself. We have been encouraging crawing by letting her lay on her belly more and getting her excited to come to us. She usually just rolls over again or will push off with her legs in a semi circle. And her hair is coming in more!!!! Enough to let me spike it in the tub! It was such a wonderful week.
This past week Ellia had a cold from daycare so we are back into not sleeping and being cranky…. that goes for all of us! I got the cold too and spent the weekend trying to fight it off. We also went to see Harry Potter.. the book is way better but the movie was entertaining. Sunday was church and it also was Vader’s 3rd Birthday. We let him chew on some of our rib bones from dinner.. haha.
Here is to another work week.. this coming weekend we have cousin Zoe’s 2nd Birthday party. Angela’s baby shower and cousin Alex’s 4th birthday party! Man does time fly by…..
Until next time…blessings to you all.
