August Events

There has been a lot of events happening this August that have kept us quite busy. I will get right down to business with some updates. This is a long post so bare with me!
First we had the annual Angelo Family Reunion out at Aunt Vickie’s and Uncle Michael’s house. Ellia loved their house because it was a circle house and she would have anyone she could chase her. What a great day to see family and enjoy the outdoors. Our cousin’s came in from Georgia and Ellia took a liking to Melissa. The day was full of corn hole, golf (ellia’s of course), food, and even a water battle.

One Friday night I met Jen and her kids and my parents for dinner. We then headed to a local church festival. The kids rode the merry-go-round. Ellia loved it and kept telling everyone it was her merry-go-round by yelling "MINE" "MINE"... she does that a lot these days. It was such a nice night with them. I got a great picture of my parents too!

That same weekend Ellia and I headed to Mathew and Michael’s 12th Birthday party. These are the twin boys my friend Missy had in high school. I am god mother to Michael. I can’t believe they are 12. Ellia had so much fun playing with Anthony (bother to the twins) Anthony is only 2 ½ so they got along really well. The twins are so tall, so handsome, and becoming young men. Crazy!!!! I remember going to their 2nd birthday party and now my own daughter will be having hers soon!

The next weekend (Aug 15th) we went to Kenny Wood. Last year Ellia wasn’t able to ride anything so I was so excited to see how she would react. Well.. not so good. We did well on the big merry-go-round with Mama ridding too. However when we got to kiddy land it was a different story. We put her on the swings first with Magerie. She was fine until another child started crying. Then it was a ripple effect and probably half of the riders ended up crying. Ellia included. Not being smart with our choice of rides, we put her on the whip next! I think the pictures say it all. Magerie kept looking at Ellia like she was crazy. After that we ate and walked around.. road the merry-go-round again and then she fell asleep. At lest we got to ride the new coaster and enjoy being outside all day for a change.

On a Wednesday (the 18th) we headed over to visit with Chad Barber Jr. We haven’t seen him or Amelia in such a long time but it was like we never lost that time. The kids had fun chasing each other around the house, eating popsicles, and making Kevin run them around the yard. They make a cute couple don’t they???!!!

Then the weekend of the 21st we headed to the Greek food festival in Forest Hills. Our friend Nick ran the festivities and we have been attending every year. Ellia really liked the Greek music and dancing. Her and baby Jack have some good rhythm!

That Sunday we went to Uncle Ron and Aunt Kelly’s house to celebrate their birthdays. Magerie and Ellia loved chasing each other and some of Kelly and Ron’s friends who were in their wedding came to join us as well. I think the best game was watching the girls chase and play in the back yard together with Aunt Kelly. Kelly was super excited to surprise Ron with his gift, which was a guitar amp. She did really well keeping it a secret for over a month and it paid off. Baby Garrett was there too and is getting so big. Ellia really likes him and gets all excited about a baby being around. Don't get any ideas little Miss!!!

This past weekend Ellia had her first sleep over at Nana and Papa house. I wish I could tell you she was an angle and everything went smoothly. Poor Nana and Papa were up with her between 1 to 5am. So I guess we will not be doing another sleep over for awhile. She is just at that stage where she is aware and cautious about her surroundings. It was something so different and out of her routine. Thank you Nana and Papa for giving it a shot. That Sunday we celebrated Nana’s birthday. It was Wing Fest 2010! Kevin went nuts with his turkey fryer and sauces. It was delicious. Great Grandma Wenzel joined us later and again, Ellia and Magerie liked running after each other, screeching. So funny! They move so fast my pictures came out blurry.

I guess you could say the weeks in-between all of our weekend actives were filled with trips to the park, the pool, side walk chalking, hitting golf balls with Dada, hanging outside with our neighbor Max and just being plain silly! Here are some shots from those just as memorable moments.
And this weekend (Labor Day Weekend) we are leaving for North Myrtle Beach with my sister, her family and my parents. This will be Ellia’s first trip to the beach! I can’t wait to blog about the experience. We leave Friday night. Please keep us in your prayers for safe travels and good weather!
Sorry this blog is rushed and choppy and long! There has just been a lot going on. Soon my little miss will be 22 months old and only 2 months away from turning 2! Wow.. she is quite a little entertainer and becoming more and more a little independent girl. God is so good!
We are anxiously awaiting the arrival of cousin Wendy Hornak’s baby boy (or Aunt Wendy as we like to call her) as I post this blog! Please keep her in your prayers for she has been in labor all day so far. Pray for a safe, healthy, and progressive delivery! Love you all.. hope your summer was filled with wonderful memories. Next post will be about Baby Hornak and our beach trip!
