A couple of weeks ago we finally got to celebrate Aunt Kristin’s 30th birthday. The snow delayed many activities. We also celebrated Great Grandma Wenzel’s birthday too. Magerie and Ellia enjoyed interacting with each other. We enjoyed watching them do so. They also enjoyed helping Kristin and Grandma open their gifts. Ellia even helped Dada make an important decision for a move while playing Uncle Todd at chess.
This past weekend was cousin Mia Ollis’ 1st Birthday party. Ellia enjoyed running around chasing balloons with all the kids. She really surprised Kevin and I when she went up to a couple of the older kids who were playfully hitting each other with their balloons and joined right in. Cousin Samantha is walking now too. So funny to see the little ones wandering around and exploring. This summer will be such a great time to see them all running around and playing. We enjoyed playing pin the candle on the cupcake game. We also loved the chocolate favors and the coloring book that Mia gave her guests.
Ellia these days is developing her “demanding” side. She says Mine all the time now… just like the seagulls in Finding Nemo. She also says NO to a lot more things and her fits of frustration have increased.. I guess this is what happens when you start to get closer to the age of two??? We aren’t THAT close though. Even poor Vader gets told “No…No…No!” However I think she is just mimicking Kevin and I when we yell at him.
She is really into books and usually asks to read them before bed, as soon as we wake up, in the car, at the store…wherever and whenever… I think that is a good thing though. Sometimes I find her in the corner just talking away and reading a story... usually it is upside down but she gets the idea… we even take a couple of books to nap with. This past weekend I put her in her crib with a couple of books and she fell asleep on top of them. Kevin and I watch her in the monitor while she tells the story to herself. There is one where you are to point to your eyes, mouth, toes, nose… etc… and it amazes me that each page she knows what to do just from us reading it to her. Oh little miss… you are getting so big and I just enjoy you more and more!
