Hustle and Bustle of the Season

With all the hustle and bustle between Thanksgiving and Christmas, I have completely forgotten about my blog! I am so sorry but you will see in a minute what has been occupying my time Of course there has been much going on. Way too much I would say. And here it is already with Christmas only 4 days away! Since Thanksgiving we have had a lot of celebrating going on (but what else is new!)… between a baptism and too many wonderful birthdays, we keep right on eating a lot of cake!
Baby Joseph Hornak's Baptism!

Donna Barker's 60th Birthday Party!
Great Grandma Angelo's Birthday Party!

Cousin Lunch!

Papa Angelo's Birthday!

Of course we are most looking forward to celebrating Jesus' Birthday. Ellia has been really excited about the Christmas décor. She loves our tree and all the decorations but she is most into the nativity. Commenting on baby Jesus and always scoping him out at church. Pointing out his mom and dad and asking him if he is cold. She is fascinated by the lights and objects that people have in their yards too. On our route to daycare she remembers where certain ones are, like frosty the snowman, and points him out or waves. But the best is when she spots a nativity scene and tells me she saw Jesus. My heart just melts.

She refers to Santa as Ho Ho. I think because we have a book that says Ho, Ho, Ho, Merry Christmas when you push the button. But she loves to watch her Christmas DVD’s and (of course) dance to the Christmas music.

We also are celebrating the birth of Reese Dorothy Curry born on December 16th weighing 7 lbs, 13 oz. She is adorable and we can’t wait to meet her in person. Congratulations Adam and Julia!

One of our main goals for the New Year is potty training. Ellia has started to get the hang of it and will tell us or ask us to go now and then. I think Santa is going to put a potty under the tree for her so she can start practicing at daycare. We will keep you posted! (She is going to kill me when she is older for this picture!)

I hope that all of you have a wonderful Christmas and New Year. Please take the time to really reflect on the joy and true meaning of Christmas. One of my favorite songs this time of year is Away In A Manger. The part that I love the most is below and just seems like the perfect prayer to keep in our hearts, as innocent as it may seem, having him near and counting on his tender care gives me a true peace of mind. Love you all very much!

Be near me, Lord Jesus,
I ask Thee to stay
Close by me forever
And love me I pray

Bless all the dear children
In Thy tender care
And take us to heaven
To live with Thee there
